The Foundation Course is for all yoga practitioners who want to deepen their understanding of the history, philosophy and practice of yoga. In the West, asana practice (physical postures) has gained ascendancy and is almost all that is thought of when anyone mentions the word yoga. However, yoga is also a philosophy which encompasses asana and much more that can assist us in creating a balanced way of life in our demanding world.
Step into a rich heritage
The Traditional Yoga Association Foundation Course will broaden your understanding and awareness of the rich heritage you are stepping into. We will look at all the authoritative texts on yoga, including the Upanishads, Patanjali, and the Pradipika. One of the primary aims of the course is to give the serious student help in creating and building a spiritual practice that suits the life they are living. Once you have completed this course you have the option of going on to the Traditional Yoga Association Teacher Training Course.
